every piece of junk across the country that can transport people has been hired and numbered and is currently clogging the roads, transporting happy people allegedly at their own cost to the “spontaneous gathering” for the festivities of the national day in the “nationality arena” phillip II. and to make the thing perfect, police has been deployed to count and direct the buses and vans (at whose cost, i wonder…). such a happy conjuncture of party and state all for the good of the people gives me the bitter aftertaste of childhood recollections of ceausescu’s romania. less bread, but more games instead. way to go, macedonia, way to go… happy birthday!
