Question #2: Who received the prestigious award for his lifetime achievements as a journalist yesterday?
Answer: Yes, nobody else but him, Fidel Castro, the “historical leader of the Revolution”, as they call him in Cuba today.
Among the candidates under consideration there was another illustruous colleague of his, Hugo “Aló Presidente” Chavez. He was however nominated honorary member of the Cuban journalists association. Current Cuban President Raul Castro was elected ordinary member of the organisation.
It was not revealed whether the length of speeches given was a category for the jury.
